Rajshahi Native Killed While Delivering Food for DoorDash; Tragic Death Leaves Bangladeshi Community in Mourning

A Bangladeshi man, Mahfuzul Haque, 43, a native of Rajshahi and a resident of Northeast Philadelphia, was reportedly shot and killed while working as a DoorDash food delivery driver. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the Bangladeshi community in Philadelphia.

According to information shared through social media and local sources, Haque was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of his head around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of South 60th Street in the Kingsessing neighborhood. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Authorities reportedly recovered his vehicle, which was still running, a DoorDash delivery bag, and two spent rifle casings from the scene. Initial reports indicate that investigators are treating the incident as a targeted homicide. Three masked individuals have reportedly been identified as possible suspects.
Haque was previously employed at Al-Sham Willow Grove. He is survived by his wife and their 14-year-old child.
