A 1-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after officers at a Bronx subway station spotted a bite mark on his back, according to police.
The officers were at the Third Avenue and 149th Street station in Mott Haven just before 3 a.m. Monday while responding to a previous unrelated assault, when they saw the toddler with a bite wound on his back.
The child was taken to Lincoln Hospital with what police described as a very minor injury. Upon further investigation, it was found that the injury was suffered inside a residence on Fillmore Street in the Little Yemen neighborhood about an hour before officers spotted the wound, according to police.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the incident nor how it happened, but it police said the toddler’s mother knows the person who bit the boy.
No arrests have yet been made. An investigation is ongoing.
