Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Ramesh Biswas Kumar Miraculously Survives the Valley of Death

Hosne Ara Chowdhury: In a horrifying Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, when death loomed in every direction, one man alone defied the odds—Ramesh Biswas Kumar, who miraculously survived by jumping through the emergency exit.

He was seated in Seat 11A. Right before his eyes unfolded a devastating tragedy, as hundreds of lives were lost beneath the wreckage.

The Door to Life: Emergency Exit

Ramesh Kumar described how he realized the plane was going down. Amidst violent tremors, the smell of fire, and sheer panic, he acted swiftly—opening the emergency exit and leaping into the unknown.

That door became his “gateway to life.”

Ramesh says: “I don’t know how I survived. People were screaming around me. I just opened the door and jumped. After that, I remember nothing.”

One Survivor, Hundreds Perished

According to reports, there were 242 people on board—231 passengers and 11 or 12 crew members.
Most were trapped and perished in the fire and wreckage.
Authorities have confirmed that Ramesh Biswas Kumar is the sole survivor.

What Caused the Crash?

Preliminary reports suggest the aircraft caught fire mid-air, possibly due to an engine malfunction, and crashed near the runway during an attempted emergency landing.

India’s DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation have launched a full investigation.

Final Words

Ramesh Biswas Kumar survived, but the flames still burn in his eyes, and the last screams still echo in his ears.
This crash is not just a technical failure—it is a human tragedy that reminds us how, sometimes, life comes down to a single second, a single decision.
