SUNNYSIDE, Queens (WABC) — Emergency crews rescued a construction worker trapped in a trench in Queens on Monday.
It unfolded between 480-8 47the St. between two apartment buildings in Sunnyside.
Officials say the worker was stuck in the trench and trapped in dirt when they received the call around 4:30 p.m.
Firefighters had to perform a major technical rescue response, but they were able to get the worker out successfully.
After the rescue, an ambulance took the worker to the hospital where his condition remains unknown.
