tate has announced which company has been chosen to manage the $9 billion contract for a Medicaid home care program.
Gov. Kathy Hochul said Monday the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) will be managed statewide by Public Partnerships, LLC. There will be 30 regional partners as well.
The program allows people to be paid while caring for their loved ones.
The state says the transition will take effect by the middle of next year.
Capital Tonight reported last week that Public Partnerships has faced allegations and a class action lawsuit over delayed payments to home care workers. The company didn’t respond to a requests for comment on those allegations.
The current program in New York has more than 600 companies handling payments, which has led to concerns of fraud and abuse.
