Curtis Sliwa Claims 24/7 Security After ‘Credible’ Threats; NYPD Reports No Records

New York – Curtis Sliwa, the Republican mayoral candidate and founder of the Guardian Angels, has announced that he is now under 24/7 private security due to what he describes as “credible” threats against his life and that of his wife, Nancy. This marks the first time in his life that Sliwa has felt the need for such protection. He stated that the threats have intensified over the weekend, prompting the decision to hire a security team composed of retired and off-duty officers.

Despite Sliwa’s claims, the New York Police Department (NYPD) has reported that it has no records or reports of any threats against him. An NYPD spokesperson confirmed that there have been no documented threats or scheduled meetings with Sliwa or his campaign. Additionally, law enforcement sources have indicated that the department has not received any reported threats against Sliwa.

Sliwa has previously alleged that he was offered bribes to withdraw from the mayoral race, a claim that has been denied by former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s campaign. Sliwa has consistently stated that he has no intention of exiting the race. The heightened security measures come amid a broader climate of political tension and threats against public figures.
