After Adams’ exit, Crown Heights United PAC endorses Cuomo, citing concerns over rising antisemitism.
Report: Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has gained a key endorsement in the city’s mayoral race, as the influential Crown Heights United PAC — representing a significant part of the Jewish community — announced its support for his candidacy.
In a statement, the group declared: “As extremism and antisemitism continue to rise, Andrew Cuomo is the right leader for our community.”
The endorsement is expected to give Cuomo fresh momentum, as the Jewish community has historically played an influential role in New York City politics.
Mayor Eric Adams, who had long been seen as a close ally of the Jewish community, withdrew from the race this week. His departure has reshaped the political balance and opened the door for Cuomo to strengthen ties with Jewish voters.
Meanwhile, frontrunner Zohran Mamdani’s outspoken criticism of Israel has unsettled parts of the Jewish community, pushing many voters to look for an alternative. For some, Cuomo now represents that choice.
