The first Janazah prayer for Titu Mia, a well-known member of the Bangladeshi expatriate community in New York, was held on Sunday, May 3, at 1:00 PM following the Zuhr prayer at the Jamaica Muslim Center. A large number of community members attended the prayer and offered supplications for the forgiveness of the deceased.
A second Janazah prayer was held at 73rd Street in Jackson Heights, where additional members of the community gathered to pay their final respects and make dua for Titu Mia.
Following the two Janazah prayers, Titu Mia was taken to New Jersey, where his burial was completed at Laurel Grove Cemetery. Family members, relatives, close friends, and members of the wider community were present during the burial.
The atmosphere throughout the proceedings was deeply emotional and marked by silence and grief. Many attendees stood in quiet reflection, remembering the life and moments shared with the deceased.
The passing of Titu Mia has cast a profound shadow of sorrow across the Bangladeshi expatriate community. He is remembered as a humble, kind-hearted, and community-oriented individual, whose absence will be deeply felt.
Prayers continue for Almighty Allah to grant him Jannatul Ferdous and to give patience and strength to his grieving family.
