Educational Supplies Distributed in Jackson Heights, Bringing Smiles to Children

As the new school year begins, the New York Cyber Business & Industry Lions Club, District 20-R2, has demonstrated its commitment to supporting students and strengthening the community through a meaningful service initiative. The club organized the ‘Back to School Giveaway 2026’ in Jackson Heights, with the generous support of Golden Age Home Care Inc.
The community-focused event was held on Friday, August 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Golden Age Home Care, 71-24 35th Ave, Jackson Heights, NY 11372. Students received essential school supplies to help them prepare for the new academic year. The event brought smiles and excitement to children while also drawing appreciation from parents and community members.
Organizers said the purpose of the initiative went beyond simply distributing school supplies. The program was designed to encourage children in their education, strengthen their confidence and inspire them to pursue their dreams. According to the organizers, helping a child prepare for school is also an investment in that child’s future.
Lions Club Leadership
The initiative was led by Lion Shah Nawaz, PMJF, Founder of the New York Cyber Business & Industry Lions Club and First Vice District Governor of Lions District 20-R2.
Club President Lion Ahsan Habib, PMJF, and Secretary Lion Nishan Rahim played key roles in making the program successful. The event was coordinated by Lion Md. Badrodduja Sagar and Lion Anik Raj.
Among those in attendance were PDG Guillermo Ali Perez, District GST Coordinator; PDG Medadie Sy, District GMT Coordinator; PDG Amado Sy; Lion Muhammed Sayed, Past President of the New York Bangladeshi American Lions Club; Hassan Zilani, Past Secretary; Lion MS Alam; Lion Anik Raj and Lion Abubakar Siddique, Organizing Secretaries; Director Lion Belal Ahmed; Director Lion Shah J. Choudhury; Director Dr. Nargis Rahman; and Lion Nurul Azim.
Support from Golden Age Home Care
Golden Age Home Care Inc. provided significant support for the successful implementation of the ‘Back to School Giveaway 2026.’ Organizers expressed their sincere appreciation to the organization for its generous support.
The program also received support from community partners WHECMI (World Humanitarian Emergency Crisis Management Inc.) and Save the Smile.
Community Members Join the Effort
Members of the New York Cyber Business & Industry Lions Club actively participated in organizing and carrying out the initiative. They included Lion Sayedur Rahman, Lion Ahmednur Mesha, Lion Sohel Howlader, Lion Newaz Sharif, Lion Sayem Miah, Lion Serajus Salehen, Lion Dawa Tsang, and Lion DQ Mithun.
Parents and community members attending the event praised the initiative, saying that providing school supplies not only helps meet students’ immediate needs but also encourages them to approach the new school year with greater confidence and enthusiasm.
Organizers emphasized that community involvement plays an important role in supporting children’s education and future development. They expressed their commitment to continuing similar service initiatives that place students and families at the heart of community support.
The ‘Back to School Giveaway 2026’ ultimately became more than a school-supply distribution program. It reflected a shared commitment to education, a responsibility toward the next generation, and the power of community members coming together in the spirit of service and compassion.
