Sports Report: Bangladesh head coach Javier Cabrera is confident that the inclusion of midfielder Hamza Choudhury will be a decisive factor in their upcoming Asian Cup Qualifiers match against India in Shillong on March 25.
As the Bangladesh team returned home yesterday from a 12-day training camp in Saudi Arabia, Cabrera expressed his optimism about the Leicester City midfielder’s impact on the team.
“Of course, it is a great strength to have Hamza, a player from the English Premier League, coming here to represent Bangladesh. He will make the difference against India,” Cabrera stated confidently.
“It will have a very big impact on the team for sure—his leadership and his professionalism. I think he is also excited to play for the national team. Definitely, something good will come.”
With Hamza, who currently plays as a right-back for Sheffield United, joining the squad, Cabrera believes Bangladesh have a fair shot at victory, despite India’s decision to bring their legendary striker Sunil Chhetri out of retirement.
With renewed hope and Hamza’s international experience, Bangladesh’s clash against India promises to be an exciting and fiercely contested battle.
