Celebration of Charter and First Installation Program of the Rotary Club of Hope, New York. The charter ceremony and the first installation program of the Rotary Club of Hope, New York, were held on Saturday (November 18). The event took place on a rooftop of a residential building in Brooklyn.
District Governor J. Loren Russell, Immediate Past District Governor Martin Schulman, Vice-Governor and Past District Governor Mahbub Ahmad, District Governor Elect Syed Alirahi, Past District Governor Eric Storberg, Past District Governor Garrett Capobianco, Past District Governor Mary Shackleton, Area Governor Bina Ahmad, Rotarian Shazia Alirahi, Rotarian Shahnewaz Rahim & Rotarian Laboni Ahmed from Rotary District 7230 were present at the event. Rtn. Sohel Parvez and Rtn. Atiqur Rahman of Hope NY Rotary Club started the event by introducing current club president, Rtn. Kazi Ahmed. The program led by Charter President Rtn. Rownak Ahmed, was a resounding success, filled with sincerity and warmth. Charter President Rownak Ahmed received a charter certificate from IPDG Martin Schulman. Current President Kazi Ahmed took the oath along with DG Loren Russell and pledged to lead the club with dedication. In this ceremony, DG inducted President Kazi, along with the new board of directors and officers.
All charter members received certificates from DG Loren. President Kazi welcomed new members by presenting them with Rotary lapel pins. Distinguished guests shared valuable remarks, encouraging everyone. The Rotary Club of Hope, New York, received accolades as the number one Rotary Club from District Governor Loren Russell in his speech. The club’s mentor, PDG Mahbub Ahmed, highlighted the club’s achievements in his eloquent speech. In her speech, AG Bina Ahmed mentioned that President Rownak Ahmed handled all aspects of the event with dedication. Rownak & Kazi Ahmed Introduced each & every member of the club.
The members are Naheed Zaman, Nawshin Barco, Shoayeb Khan, Shad Ahmed, Niyaz Afnan, Madani Khan, Marsha Chowdhury, Sohel Parvez, Mohammed Babar, Shakara Mohiuddin, Atiqur Rahman, Mohammed Aftab, Shaila Aftab, Faisal Mahmud, Sanjana Tasmeen, Sajjad Hossain, Abdullah Tareque Muhammad, Rubaiya Rahman, Arif Ahmed, Sumaiya Goni, Chad Sultana, Raquib Chowdhury & Ethel Hussain. Charter President Rownak Ahmed honored dignitaries by presenting them all “North Star Award”, symbolizing guidance, direction, and hope.
