PENNSYLVANIA: The Pennsylvania International Book Fair 2026, one of the major literary and cultural gatherings of the Bengali diaspora in the United States, is set to take place in Pennsylvania from August 28 to 30, 2026. Renowned Bangladeshi children’s author Humayun Kabir Dhali has been invited as a special guest for the third edition of the event, organized with the support of Shaptak Bangla School.

The three-day book fair will be held at the Shaptak Cultural Center, 3205 Marshall Rd, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. The fair will remain open from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, and from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The event is being organized under the themes “Let Us Spread the Light of Bengali Across the World” and “Join the Joyful Gathering of Harmony.” The organizers aim to promote Bengali language, literature, and culture among the younger generation of the diaspora while creating greater opportunities for Bengali literature to reach a wider global audience.

The participation of Humayun Kabir Dhali is expected to be one of the major attractions of this year’s book fair. With his longstanding contribution to children’s literature and his commitment to Bengali language and culture, his presence is expected to create meaningful engagement with children, young readers, parents, writers, and literature enthusiasts.

For the Bengali diaspora, the Pennsylvania International Book Fair is more than a literary event. It represents a vibrant meeting place for books, writers, readers, and cultural communities—and an important effort to preserve and pass on the richness of Bengali language and heritage to future generations.

The participation of a distinguished children’s author like Humayun Kabir Dhali is expected to add further significance and cultural depth to the three-day celebration of Bengali literature in Pennsylvania.
