New York, October 5, 2025 — Authorities are investigating after an 83-year-old woman was found dead inside her car at John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Parking Lot 9 on Friday afternoon.
According to the Port Authority Police, officers responded around 2:10 p.m. after receiving reports of an unresponsive person inside a parked vehicle near Lefferts Boulevard and Aqueduct Road. Upon arrival, emergency personnel broke the car window and discovered the woman deceased inside.
Preliminary information indicates the vehicle had been parked there since September 30, with no movement since then. The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine the cause of death, though foul play has not yet been confirmed.
A section of the parking lot was temporarily closed for investigation, but airport operations and traffic flow remained unaffected, officials said.
