Bangladesh embassy in Myanmar on Saturday announced ‘Ambassador’s Travel Grant’ for expatriate Bangladeshi students in Myanmar.
The ambassador Monwar Hossain came up with the announcement at the first ever National Expatriates’ Day event organised by the embassy, said a press release.
As part of the celebration, a view exchange session also held marking the day with the participation of expatriate Bangladeshis in Myanmar.
The new grant would be given to five Bangladeshi expatriate students every year to meet their travel expenses on education or research purpose to Bangladesh or within Myanmar.
Monwar Hossain urged the audience to contribute further to Bangladesh by enhancing investments there and play positive role to lift the face of the country in abroad.
Bangladesh community members including businessmen, employees of the various UN organisations, INGOs, multinational companies, officers-officials of the embassy were present in the programme.
