A manhunt is underway in the Bronx for a suspect in the shooting of a 12-year-old girl late Monday night.
The girl was walking alone in The Pearly Gates park around 8:30 p.m. on Tratman Avenue in the Westchester Square section of the borough, a police source said. Police said the girl was shot in the stomach and foot and was rushed to Montefiore Hospital in serious condition. Officers said she was stable Tuesday morning.
Police sources said she was not the intended target.
Witnesses described the shooters as two teenagers, wearing all black, who took off from the scene.
