MetLife Stadium, with a seating capacity of over 82,000 and built at a cost of $1.6 billion, has been uniquely transformed for the World Cup. The addition of Wazed’s mural brings an elevated sense of cultural depth and visual elegance to the venue.
Jihan Wazed has already made a significant mark across the United States through his large-scale murals at prominent locations, including the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, JFK Airport Terminal 4, Queens Hospital, and the World Trade Center.
His work often reflects the natural beauty, rural life, and cultural heritage of Bangladesh. The recurring presence of red and green in his art symbolizes a deep-rooted connection to his homeland, blending identity with global expression.

Born in Benghazi, Libya, Wazed is the son of Dr. Wazed Khan, editor of Weekly Bangladesh in New York. Raised in New York City, he studied at Stuyvesant High School and later graduated from Baruch College with a degree in Perceptual Psychology. Despite having no formal training in fine arts, his passion and dedication have shaped a distinctive artistic voice.
From his early beginnings in graffiti to becoming a recognized muralist, Wazed’s journey reflects innovation and perseverance. His works have been widely appreciated in the mainstream art community, including exhibitions in Manhattan and participation in international showcases such as Paris in 2025.
