QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A body was found in the aftermath of a fiery explosion at a Queens home Thursday morning, police said.
The person has not yet been identified, police said.
The chaos unfolded Thursday around 2:42 a.m., when police responded to a reported domestic dispute a home on 130th Street, police said. Officers say the 911 caller reported that a male had arrived at the residence intoxicated and that they could smell gas.
Police say the suspect, identified as Anroop Parasram, 50, forced his way into a basement apartment and threatened a relative with a knife.
As the officers approached the front door, an explosion erupted, knocking them off their feet, officials say. Some of the officers were launched into the gates of the residence.
The moment is caught on the officers’ body-worn cameras. In a video of the scene, an officer can be heard saying, “I’m hurt!” and a woman saying, “Save my baby”.
