New York, November 1 | Report by Sadia J. Choudhury

As early voting in New York City wraps up, a new poll shows front-runner Zohran Mamdani with 40% support, independent candidate Andrew Cuomo at 34%, and Republican Curtis Sliwa at 24%. (cbsnews.com)

The survey, conducted by Atlas, included over 1,500 registered voters. The timing—during the final weekend of early voting—suggests that the mayoral race is closer and more competitive than previously anticipated.

Mamdani emphasized his vision, stating,

“The only way to prevent future injustice is to build the society we want… we will start the work you have long awaited.”

Cuomo highlighted his experience, saying,

“New York needs someone who can handle whatever comes up.”

Meanwhile, Sliwa positioned himself as a blue-collar alternative, telling voters,

“This election isn’t about billionaires, influencers, or insiders—it’s about you, the people.”

Early voting sites across the city remain open Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., ahead of Election Day on Tuesday. (cbsnews.com)
