USA Today: Wildfires in the state have destroyed almost 300 structures, including over 200 homes, and burned 179,000 acres, according to the Oklahoman, a part of the USA TODAY Network.
Area hospitals also reported at least 200 injuries related to the fires and high winds, according to the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management. Despite the devastation, people in the state are still at risk. Monday morning, the National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning over the state.
Most of the state will see “critical to extreme” fire risk levels due to fire weather on Tuesday. But, on Wednesday, though, the chances of fire danger will drop to “critical” levels or lower, with Thursday sandwiched between two “critical” levels and the weekend falling to “elevated risks.”
