WABC — In honor and celebration of our country’s heroes, ABC 7 New York is proud to have aired the biggest Veterans Day event in the United States, the annual New York City Veterans Day Parade.
More than 20,000 service members marched up Fifth Avenue in the 2025 New York City Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday.
Eyewitness News anchor Joe Torres and ABC News’ Stephanie Ramos hosted the parade and Eyewitness News reporter CeFaan Kim reported along the parade route.
The 2025 parade is marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. military by celebrating the birth of its three senior service branches: The Army, Marine Corps and Navy.
This year, each of the parade’s Grand Marshals represents one of those branches. The Grand Marshals include former SSG and Medal of Honor recipient Clinton Romesha, Marine veteran and homeless veterans’ advocate Stephen Peck, and NASA Astronaut and retired U.S. Navy Captain Sunita “Suni” Williams.
Spectators were treated to a showcase of marching bands, military units, veterans’ organizations and more, all coming together to pay homage to those who have sacrificed for our freedom.
