The hunt for content creator Elias Hossain has intensified in New York, with posters appearing on walls across the city, as he faces serious charges of contempt of court and making threats.
Authorities in Queens County have reportedly issued a summons for Hossain to appear in court following allegations of threatening to bomb the plaintiff’s house.
An official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed these developments on Saturday (Feb 17).
He said that the case against Hossain is currently being heard in the criminal court of Queens County, with arrest warrants issued in connection to the allegations.
The involvement of online activists Milton Jacob and Prima Rabbani has shed further light on the situation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs official revealed that charges have been filed against Hossain in the sensational Mitu murder case within the country, specifically for providing and disseminating false and misleading information.
Mitu was gunned down on June 5, 2016 as she was taking her son to his school bus on foot at GEC crossing in the port city Chattogram.
