NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — While most fan celebrations during the Knicks’ finals run were peaceful, there were some unruly fans.
The NYPD released photos of four suspects accused of damaging a yellow taxi in Midtown.
It happened at 36th Street and 7th Avenue near Madison Square Garden last Wednesday night after the Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs.
Police say the men damaged the windshield and hood of the taxi.
No one was hurt.
However, in a separate incident that same night, a 17-year-old boy was brutally beaten outside Madison Square Garden and was left in a coma.
The incident started with a verbal dispute allegedly sparked by a content creator provoking fans.
The teen was attacked by a group, kicked repeatedly in the head and body, and suffered a seizure. He remains hospitalized in critical condition, and police are still searching for suspects.
Meantime, after the Knicks Game 5 and NBA Finals win, rowdy fans celebrated the championship victory, but in some cases it led to chaos.
Several school buses were set on fire, a teen was shot in the foot, dozens of people were arrested, and at least 10 members of the NYPD got hurt.
Video captured flames erupting from a school bus that was lit on fire on 42nd Street near Eighth Avenue by the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
