New Delhi Correspondent, June 6, 2026: Supporters of the so-called “Cockroach People’s Party (CJP)” staged a protest in India’s capital today, voicing strong concerns over alleged irregularities in the education system, including exam paper leaks, administrative mismanagement, and rising unemployment among youth.
The demonstrators gathered at Jantar Mantar, a traditional protest site in New Delhi, where they demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Protesters accused the government of failing to ensure transparency and accountability in the education sector, claiming that such issues are pushing young people toward uncertainty and frustration.
Participants included students, job seekers, and young activists. Many of them wore symbolic “cockroach masks,” representing what organizers described as resilience and resistance against systemic failures. The protest reportedly drew hundreds to several thousand participants.
Security forces were deployed in large numbers across the area, with barricades set up to maintain order. While the demonstration remained largely peaceful, authorities confirmed that a few individuals were briefly detained as a precautionary measure.
Analysts note that what began as an online satirical political movement has gradually evolved into a real-world street protest, gaining traction among sections of India’s youth. The “Cockroach People’s Party” has increasingly become a symbolic expression of frustration over unemployment, inflation, and lack of opportunities.
Organizers stated that the movement is not just a protest but a platform for young people to express peaceful resistance and demand systemic reform.
