Authorities in New York State have filed multiple murder charges against a man in connection with two separate violent incidents in Cheektowaga and Buffalo that left four people dead.
According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, 29-year-old Saleh Mohamed has been identified as the suspect in the case. Investigators allege that he shot and killed his wife and two young children inside a residence on Ellen Drive in Cheektowaga. The victims were identified as a 26-year-old woman and her two sons, aged 3 and 4.
Earlier the same day, a separate shooting occurred at a business on Grant Street in Buffalo, where a 43-year-old store employee was fatally shot. Police said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities believe both incidents are connected and occurred within approximately one hour of each other. The Buffalo shooting reportedly took place around 2:30 p.m., followed by the Cheektowaga killings at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incidents and has been arraigned in both Buffalo City Court and Cheektowaga Town Court. He faces multiple counts of second-degree murder.
Officials confirmed that Mohamed is currently being held without bail. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released a motive for the attacks.
