A 52-year-old male worker has died following an accident on Monday, Nov. 6, involving a cement mixer at 1140 Grinnell Place in the Hunts Point section of The Bronx, according to the NYPD and emergency services.
An EMS spokesperson said they received a call regarding the accident at Grinnell Place, located between Barry Street and East 156th Street on Monday at 1.24 p.m. They said a person got “entangled” in machinery, reported to be a cement mixer truck, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The deadly incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. on Grinnell Place between Barry Street and East 156th Street in Hunters Point, FDNY officials said. There weren’t many details immediately available as to what happened or how it transpired, but the FDNY said one person somehow got entangled in the truck’s machinery. EMS responded and pronounced them dead at the scene.
The person’s name has not yet been released. An investigation is ongoing.
