(A Tribute from the Son of a Soldier)
Today marks the 250th anniversary of one of the world’s most respected and resilient military forces—the United States Army.
Two and a half centuries of service.
Two and a half centuries of courage, commitment, and sacrifice.
From the dawn of a new nation in 1775 to the global complexities of today,
the U.S. Army has stood firm—as a guardian of liberty, a pillar of strength,
and a symbol of unity across generations.
This is not just a birthday—
It’s a day of reverence.
It’s a moment to salute every soldier who has walked the path of duty,
who has carried the weight of freedom,
and who continues to protect and serve with unwavering dedication.
A Personal Salute
For me, this celebration touches a deeper chord.
Because I am the son of a soldier.
My father proudly served in the Bangladesh Army.
He was a freedom fighter in the Liberation War of 1971—
trained and fought under Sector 2,
risking everything for the birth of a new nation.
After independence, he continued to serve the nation as a disciplined and devoted army man.
He wasn’t just my father—
he was a man of integrity, quiet strength, and deep patriotism.
From him, I learned that being a soldier is not just about wielding arms—
It’s about carrying values,
protecting dignity,
and sacrificing silently for a greater cause.
So when I honor the U.S. Army today,
I also remember the silent salute of my own father,
his upright posture in uniform,
and the fierce pride he carried for his flag and his people.
Respect, Always
To every U.S. Army soldier—past, present, and future—
thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unshakable will.
May this 250-year legacy of “Army Strong” continue to inspire generations,
not only in the United States, but across every corner of the world
where the values of freedom, duty, and honor still matter.
