Gigi Hadid breaks her silence about Israel-Palestine Conflict

American supermodel Gigi Hadid, a person of Palestinian heritage, has recently voiced her thoughts on the escalating conflict between Israel and Palestine. Describing the situation as an “unjustifiable tragedy,” Hadid expressed her support for the Palestinian cause while simultaneously condemning the violence that has ensued from the conflict.

The Times of India says, The 28-year-old model, who has been a vocal advocate for the ‘Free Palestine’ movement alongside her sister Bella Hadid, clarified her stance in an Instagram post. She emphasized that her support for Palestine does not equate to endorsing harm towards Jewish individuals, nor does it imply antisemitism.

In her heartfelt message, Hadid wrote, “I have deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation; it’s a responsibility I hold daily.” She further stated her commitment to her Jewish friends, asserting that her aspirations for Palestinians do not involve causing harm to any Jewish person.

Hadid strongly condemned the terrorizing of innocent people, stating that such actions are not aligned with the ‘Free Palestine’ movement. She expressed her concern that such violent acts perpetuate a painful cycle of retaliation, which unfairly victimizes innocent civilians, both Palestinian and Israeli. She also highlighted the misconception that being pro-Palestine equates to being anti-Semitic.

In conclusion, Hadid extended her condolences to all those affected by the conflict and emphasized the need to protect innocent lives. She wrote, “If you are hurting, as I share my condolences today with my loved ones, both Palestinian and Jewish, I’m sending you my love and strength, whoever and wherever you are.” She stressed that despite the complexity of the situation and the range of valid personal feelings, every individual deserves basic rights, treatment, and security, regardless of their nationality, religion, ethnicity, or place of birth.

While acknowledging that her words may not suffice to heal the deep wounds inflicted by the conflict, Hadid expressed her continuous prayers for the safety of innocent lives.
