It will not be Tyrod Taylor, who was sent to the hospital with an injury to his rib cage after sustaining a hit in the second quarter of Sunday’s 13-10 overtime loss to the Jets. It probably will not be Daniel Jones, who missed his third consecutive game with a neck issue and is on the mend, but likely not ready to return this week.
It certainly appears as if the Giants need to add another quarterback. They not long ago had Ian Book and Matt Barkley in for tryouts. There is Trevor Siemian on the Jets’ practice squad. There is not much out there, but the Giants need a healthy right (or left) arm to fill out their roster at the most important position on the field.
Those symptoms are believed to be almost completely gone. Taylor spent Sunday night at Hackensack University Medical Center, undergoing further evaluation and observation.
