Gothamist: An early taste of winter is coming to the New York metro area.
A freeze warning takes effect overnight until 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures are forecast to drop to the upper 20s inland and the low 30s near the coast.
Wind chills could bring the “real feel” into the teens and low 20s across the region.
New York City Emergency Management is advising residents to keep their pets indoors, protect their outdoor plants, run faucets to prevent pipes from freezing and dress warmly for going outside.
“Use caution when walking, biking, or driving,” the agency tweeted. “Plan extra time Tuesday morning to warm up your car and clear your windows.”
A cold front moving through the area could bring showers Monday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.
