Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today spoke to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi who conveyed to him the need for continued humanitarian aid for the affected population and emphasised an early and peaceful resolution of the conflict, including the release of all hostages, through dialogue and diplomacy.
Netanyahu briefed Modi on the recent developments in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, according to a readout issued by the Indian Prime Minister’s Office.
The two leaders shared concerns regarding the safety of maritime traffic, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
The Indian “Prime Minister reiterated the need for continued humanitarian aid for the affected population and emphasised an early and peaceful resolution of the conflict, including the release of all hostages, through dialogue and diplomacy,” said the readout.
This was the second time the two leaders spoke on phone since the conflict broke out in October.
Last week, India voted in favour of a resolution at the UN General Assembly which called for a ceasefire in the conflict in Gaza.
