Whether technology will benefit the society or create hindrances for the people depends mainly on the values, ethics, integrity and common sense of the people. One of the reflections of human civilization is society. People get touch of civilization from society. In the society, not to harm anyone, not to hurt anyone’s heart, not to abuse etc. are principles and sense of propriety. It is very important to maintain correct and healthy social values in the era of free spread of information technology. Although technology makes people’s lives faster and easier, its use without values can harm society. Since the invention of technology is not for a specific place or container, any individual and society can be harmed through its misuse. Its misuse occurs more or less everywhere in the world Due to which the rate of financial, social and mental degradation of the citizens of a country is increasing day by day. There is no alternative to increase social awareness about the use of Internet and unique technologies as a remedy. On the other hand, it is possible to enjoy life happily by being cautious in using technology and participating in innovative and creative activities. Humans are social creatures. This man cannot live alone. He has to live in society in order to live properly. Basically this human society of ours is built for our own security, cooperation, solidarity and harmony. But in the present social system we are witnessing various types of social degradation which is gradually spreading everywhere. When there is no more humanity in people, no more humanity, or when human behavior becomes as terrible as animals,That is when the destruction started happening in the society. This moral degradation of people is basically the degradation of society. Not all people in a society are bad. There are also humane people in our society, though very few in number. Today, social media has become more of a means of learning and worrying about other people’s lives than a means of communication. Which is damaging us physically and mentally. Social media is not only a mirror of individual life but also a mirror of society. With the touch of modern technology, the world has now become a global village. Thanks to the media, the news of the whole world is now in the hands of everyone. No matter where an important event takes place in any part of the world, it remains unknown to anyone. Social media has become an integral part of the life of today’s young society with features and content such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat etc. 98-99 percent of these social media’s revenue comes from the ads that users see on their device screens. As a result, the more time users spend on social media, the more money tech companies can make. As a result, the next generation will have to pay the biggest price. Due to these, the eyes of teenagers and young people are getting stuck on the screen of a few inches of the mobile screen. It is a kind of modern “Narcissism” which is a self-absorbed or self-centered personality trait. Drowning in this narcissism, the young generation at one time became self-centred and monotonous. Due to this social media monstrosity, they become isolated from real society. While dealing with this dual world of real and unreal, many people get lost without their knowledge. In today’s context, if someone wants to cheat or trick someone, misuse of social media is the easiest way. Through this, someone can be pulled close and pushed away. Analyzing several recent events and news published in the media, it appears that the name of social media is being mentioned as an influencer in many social unrest and relationship break-ups. Various surveys have shown thatFrom students to middle-aged married men and women are also getting involved in various problems affected by social media. And if we are not aware of these issues now, these media can be the main cause of social degradation. In the era of information technology, social values and ethics play a very important role in ensuring proper use of technology and human welfare. While technology has made people’s lives faster and easier,It must be conducted with proper humanitarian and social principles. The correct and proper use of scientific discoveries can give us a beautiful society.
