Legendary Indian performer dies in Goa after suffering a cardiac arrest

Veteran Indian actor Nana Patekar has died at the age of 75, sending shockwaves across the Indian film industry.
Patekar reportedly fell seriously ill at his residence in Goa early Thursday, October 8. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors made extensive efforts to revive him, including approximately 45 minutes of CPR. Despite the emergency treatment, he could not be saved.
Known for his intense screen presence, powerful dialogue delivery and ability to portray complex characters, Patekar was one of the most distinctive actors in Hindi and Marathi cinema.
His memorable performances in films including Parinda, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Natsamrat and Welcome earned him a lasting place in Indian cinema. He was a recipient of three National Film Awards and was honored with the Padma Shri in 2013.
Beyond acting, Patekar also contributed to theatre and filmmaking and was involved in various social initiatives.
