Salman J. Choudhury: — Police are searching for a man accused of violently shoving an elderly woman and sending her face-first onto the sidewalk at a residential complex in Forest Hills.

The incident reportedly occurred in the courtyard of the Balfour Apartments, where the woman was walking when the man allegedly approached and pushed her. The force of the shove caused her to lose her balance and fall onto the pavement.

The incident has raised concerns among residents, particularly about the safety of elderly people in residential communities. The sudden nature of the alleged assault has also prompted renewed calls for vigilance in shared public and residential spaces.

Officers from the NYPD’s 112th Precinct, which serves Forest Hills, are investigating the incident and seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or recognizes the individual is urged to provide information to police. Investigators are reviewing available evidence and working to determine the circumstances and possible motive behind the alleged assault.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no motive has been publicly established at this time.

Police are urging anyone with information that could help identify the suspect to come forward.
