NY1: The race for mayor is turning to the November general election now that Queens Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani was officially declared the Democratic nominee. Mamdani will face Curtis Sliwa, the Republican candidate; incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, who is running as an independent; and Jim Walden, who is also running as an independent.
Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who finished second in the Democratic primary, will remain on the general election ballot on the “Fight and Deliver” independent line because he did not remove himself from the ballot by the deadline. However, it remains to be seen whether he will actively campaign.
