New York | July 2, 2025: In a fiery response to former President Donald Trump’s renewed threats of mass deportations, New York State Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani declared that immigrant communities will not be silenced or intimidated.
Speaking at a press conference in Queens, Mamdani strongly condemned Trump’s recent remarks, in which the former president vowed to initiate “the largest domestic deportation operation in U.S. history” if re-elected. The comments have sparked widespread fear and anger among immigrant families and rights organizations across the country.
“We won’t accept this intimidation,” Mamdani stated.
“This is not about security—it’s about scapegoating. It’s about turning neighbor against neighbor in the name of politics. But our communities are united, and we will resist.”
Mamdani, a child of immigrants and a vocal progressive leader, emphasized that such rhetoric endangers not just undocumented individuals but the entire social fabric of the nation. He urged federal and state leaders to reaffirm their commitment to protecting immigrant rights, regardless of federal threats.
Local immigrant advocacy groups have applauded Mamdani’s stance, calling it a “necessary voice of courage” in a time of rising political fear-mongering. Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign has doubled down on its hardline position, claiming it’s a matter of “law and order.”
As the 2025 presidential election heats up, immigration has once again taken center stage—with Mamdani and others pledging to turn fear into mobilization.
