Reuters: The Interim Government of the Middle Eastern country of Syria is being formed by rebels after the fall of long-time dictator Bashar al-Assad. Mohammed al-Bashir, 41, has been appointed as the head of the interim government. He is serving as the prime minister of the Idlib region of the National Revolutionary Government of the rebels formed to lead the anti-government movement.
Mohammed al-Bashir has been officially appointed caretaker prime minister of the transitional Syrian government until 1 March 2025, reports Al-Jazeera.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Jalali, the prime minister of the ousted Bashar government, has responded to his responsibility for the top state post. He has agreed to the transfer of power.
Life in the capital Damascus has returned to normal after a day of chaos following the fall of the Assad regime on Monday (December 9). However, Israeli attacks continue to be intensified in various parts of the country.
