A 21-year-old man was shot and killed in the Belmont section of the Bronx, sparking concern among local residents.
According to police, the incident occurred সোমবার evening at around 7:00 PM near East 187th Street. An unidentified gunman approached the victim, who was standing on the sidewalk, and opened fire. The victim was struck in the head.
The আহত man was rushed to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead shortly after arrival.
The suspect fled the scene immediately following the shooting. As of now, no arrests have been made. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby cameras in an effort to identify and apprehend the shooter.
Police have not yet released the identity of the victim, pending family notification.
The Belmont neighborhood, often referred to as the “Little Italy of the Bronx,” is typically a busy residential and commercial area. However, the shocking incident has raised renewed concerns about public safety among residents.
