– A 13-year-old boy is clinging to life after being shot in the head outside a Dunkin’ in Cambria Heights on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 8:20 a.m., as the teen reportedly headed to school.
According to police, the shooter pulled up on a scooter, fired at the boy, and fled the scene immediately. The victim was rushed to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
Mayor Eric Adams condemned the shooting, calling it “a tragic example of senseless gun violence,” and vowed that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
The NYPD has not announced any arrests yet. Community leaders are urging increased police patrols and safety measures to protect children on their way to and from school.
