A new destination for authentic Thai cuisine, “Thai Nara,” has officially opened in Jackson Heights—one of New York City’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods, well known as a hub for the Bangladeshi community. The grand opening took place on Sunday, June 20, in a warm yet festive atmosphere, drawing a notable crowd of distinguished guests and food enthusiasts.
The opening evening was attended by several familiar faces from the community, including prominent media personality and social activist Shah J. Choudhury, Jackson Heights community leader Sakil Mia, Anwar Uddin, Ridwan Haque, and renowned children’s author and editor Humayun Kabir Dhali, among others.
While Bangladeshi expatriates in Jackson Heights are traditionally inclined toward South Asian cuisine, this new Thai restaurant quickly captured attention with its unique flavors and culinary diversity. Guests at the افتتاح evening praised both the quality and authenticity of the food, along with the restaurant’s warm hospitality.
Behind “Thai Nara” is experienced entrepreneur Habib Bhai, who has been successfully involved in the Thai restaurant business for many years. To ensure authentic taste and tradition, the kitchen is led by well-known and highly skilled chef Abdur Rahman, a Thai Muslim chef whose culinary expertise has already earned him a strong reputation among New York’s food lovers. His exceptional cooking was evident during the opening dinner, living up to expectations.
The restaurant’s interior design is another standout feature. With its modern, elegant décor and well-organized layout, guests can enjoy a comfortable and visually pleasing dining experience. The opening day menu featured a variety of Thai soups, appetizers, and main courses, each presented attractively and rich in flavor.
At the conclusion of the event, attendees expressed optimism about the restaurant’s future, noting that in a dynamic and multicultural area like Jackson Heights, a high-quality Thai restaurant like “Thai Nara” is poised to gain popularity not only among the Bangladeshi community but also across other communities. With its refined ambience, expert culinary team, and welcoming service, “Thai Nara” is expected to soon become a favorite spot for food lovers in New York City.
