The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Alumni Association of the USA, Inc. recently celebrated the inauguration of its new committee with a vibrant event known as SUSTian Night & Inauguration ceremony.
SUST said in a press release, Sunday (February 18) was organized by former students residing in the United States.
The event was attended by over a hundred fifty former students and their families from various states including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia, and Michigan. Alumni from Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, and Canada also joined the festivities, making it a memorable reunion.
Distinguished guests included the Consul General of Bangladesh in New York, Mr. Md. Najmul Huda, Executive Officer of the NYPD’s 104th Precinct, Captain AKM Safiul Alam (Prince), a former student of the Law Department at Rajshahi University, and Saliqur Rahman Choudhury, former controller of examination, former head, Department of Physics and former Dean , Physical Science faculty Prof. Dr. Habibul Ahsan and head , Department of Physics Prof. Dr. Nazia Chawdhury at the university and NYPD lieutenant Sajedur Rahman among others.
Md. Farid Alam, the main advisor of the SUST Alumni Association of the USA and a former student of the university’s first Economics batch, introduced the new 21-member committee and welcomed them with flowers.
