Protests Planned Over Trump Administration’s Immigration Crackdown in New York City

WABC: The first of two rallies against President Donald Trump’s crackdown on immigration is underway on Monday in Lower Manhattan.
It’s happening after Trump officials announced ICE agents are set to ‘flood’ New York City to crack down on undocumented immigrants.
Another protest is planned for 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall Park.
Over the weekend, protests took place across the country over the Trump administration’s immigration policies and the president’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
Demonstrators said they believe the bill will harm working-class families of all races and are calling for the budget to be repealed.
Meanwhile, Monday’s protests are happening after U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced last week that the Department of Justice is suing New York City and Mayor Eric Adams over the city’s sanctuary laws.
The lawsuit alleges the city’s sanctuary policies interfere with the enforcement of federal immigration law.
The lawsuit comes after the recent shooting of an off-duty Customs and Border Protection officer in Washington Heights.
