A popular Phoenix percussionist is facing criticism after allegedly sharing an anti-Semitic post on social media during the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
The post, which referenced the September 11 attacks and promoted claims widely criticized as anti-Semitic and conspiratorial, sparked a strong reaction online and renewed debate over the spread of hate and misinformation surrounding one of the darkest days in modern U.S. history.
Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the September 11, 2001, attacks in New York, at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania. The victims came from diverse religious, ethnic and national backgrounds, and their lives continue to be commemorated across the United States.
Critics said using the anniversary of such a devastating national tragedy to promote anti-Semitic rhetoric is deeply troubling. They warned that conspiracy theories targeting Jewish people not only distort the historical record but can also fuel hatred and division.
