34th Queens Pride Parade draws thousands • A strong message of love, rights, and diversity
Shah J. Choudhury , New York: Jackson Heights in Queens, New York, once again came alive with color, energy, and a powerful expression of identity and equality as the 34th Annual Queens Pride Parade and Multicultural Festival was held on Sunday.
The vibrant procession began in the afternoon, filling 37th Avenue with a festive atmosphere. From 89th Street to 75th Street, the neighborhood turned into a moving celebration of rainbow flags, music, dance, and community solidarity. Thousands of participants representing various social, cultural, and human rights organizations joined the parade.
More than just a celebration, Queens Pride stands as a symbol of unity in one of the most diverse communities in the world. In Queens, people of different ethnicities, languages, and identities came together to voice a shared commitment to equality, dignity, and human rights.
Founded in 1993, the Queens Pride Parade has grown into one of New York City’s most historic and significant Pride events. Held every June, it highlights the ongoing struggle, achievements, and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community.
While the event was filled with celebration, it also reflected important social conversations. Yet above all discussions, one message remained clear and dominant—love, identity, and equality are universal rights.

“Love is not a crime, and identity is not shame.”
The Queens Pride in Jackson Heights once again proved that diversity is strength—and that strength is love.
