Agencies: US President Donald Trump’s nominee for ambassador to the UN was met with boos at an Anti-Defamation League (ADL) conference Monday after claiming that the Oct. 7, 2023 attack by Hamas on Israel would not have occurred if Trump were still in office.
“I believe it’s quite obvious to the world that if President Trump had remained in office, October 7th would never have happened,” Elise Stefanik said, drawing audible boos from the crowd.
Saying that Trump “has brought his pro-Israel policies to the White House,” Stefanik went on to condemn the United Nations, calling it a “deep den of antisemitism” and accusing it of siding with Israel’s enemies.
“We know the United Nations is indeed a deep den of antisemitism — infected with the same rampant anti-Israel and anti-American hate and moral rot that has polluted America’s higher education system,” she said. Stefanik further accused the UN of betraying Israel and the US while allegedly acting “as an apologist for Iran and Iran’s terrorist proxies.”
“And my message for Turtle Bay is this…hear me clearly here and now: the anti-Semites at the United Nations better buckle up, because I’m coming,” she said.
