A Colorful Day of Kites, Culture, Music and Community by the Pacific Coast
By Ataul Khan Ripon, Hollywood: The 13th Kite Festival 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Sunday, August 16, 2026, beginning at noon and continuing throughout the day. Organized by the Pacific Kite Festival, the popular annual event brought together families and community members for a vibrant celebration of kites, culture, music, food and entertainment.
Held in a beautiful coastal setting, the festival featured kite flying, kite-cutting competitions, music, dance and performances by local and international artists. A variety of food, clothing and jewelry vendors also participated, offering visitors an opportunity to shop and enjoy diverse culinary choices.
Children were at the heart of many of the day’s activities. As part of a special “Back to School” initiative, free backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed to children. Organizers also distributed 500 free kites, while young participants enjoyed an art competition, kite-flying activities and prize-giving ceremonies.
For many families, the festival offered more than just entertainment. The colorful kites filling the sky and the joyful atmosphere by the ocean brought back memories of childhood, creating a unique opportunity for parents and children to share those cherished experiences together.
The strong turnout of Bangladeshi and other community members made this year’s festival particularly vibrant and successful. The combination of cultural performances, children’s activities, food, shopping and family entertainment transformed the event into a memorable community gathering.
Participants expressed their heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to the organizers for successfully hosting another outstanding Kite Festival and for creating a welcoming space where people of all ages could come together.
A special commemorative publication titled “White Dove” was also released in connection with this year’s Kite Festival, adding another meaningful dimension to the celebration and preserving memories of the event.
